There's a moment we keep coming back to.
Imagine a tiny thatched gazebo, perched right at the edge of the Caribbean Sea. The breeze is warm. The view is endless. On the table in front of you — fried fish, bun, and not a care in the world. You might be swatting the occasional mosquito, but somehow, you feel like a queen.

That was the afternoon Grandma Winnifred introduced us to The Gazebo. And that one afternoon changed everything.

Born From Two Families, One Dream

Gempie's Gazebo didn't happen by accident. It was built from love — love of family, love of Jamaica, and love of a good meal shared with good people.

We were born in partnership with Callies Beach House Resort, Portmore's beloved seaside guesthouse, and we sit right behind it — a hidden gem at the edge of the sea on Portmore Beach. Our guests dine on the deck with breathtaking views across the bay toward Kingston Harbour, Port Royal, and beyond. It's the kind of view that makes you slow down and stay a little longer.

And that's exactly the point.

Food the Way Grandma Made It

Here, the menu isn't just a list of dishes. It's a love letter to Jamaican culinary heritage.

Every recipe is rooted in tradition — many passed down through generations, shaped by the genius of Grandma Agnes Ethel-Maud West-Lawrence, whose gift for herbs, spices, and soulful cooking set the bar for everything we serve. Her spirit is in every plate that comes out of our kitchen: bold, authentic, and made with intention.

Our five granddaughters — our joy, our why, our inspiration every single day.
